Isaiah 41:13
13 For I am the LORD your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.

I have been brought to my knees in sorrow. I have cried so hard; I wondered if I would ever stop. I don’t mean a normal cry. I mean that ugly tears, snot everywhere, coughing and gagging crying. If you don’t know what I mean I hope you never do.

It is that time I of need, I don’t believe there is anyone in the world can fix it. I am not sure I need them to right then. I just need someone to set with me in the mess. Someone to hold me a let me cry. Not say a word, just be with me.

Then when I am done and can’t cry anymore, I want them to take my hand and ask, “Are you ready to move on now? Don’t be afraid, I am here, I will not leave. You are not alone.” Then they would pick me up, help me dust me off and get me ready to face tomorrow.

God is always that friend!

Lord, thank your for being my friend that will sit with me,, and help dust me off when I am ready to move on to face tomorrow. ~ amen

Philippians 4:13-14
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
14 Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.

We can face anything in our lives because God is there to go through it with us. He is there in good and bad. He is there in many ways. One of those is by putting others in our lives just when we need them most.

Sometimes I need someone to help me fix a problem. Other times, I am blessed to find some one who will just set with me in the middle of my mess. I know I can find a prayer warrior when I am in need. All of these people show up to share in my troubles. To give me strength when I can’t carry on anymore. They become God’s hands and feet.

What about you? Are you in need today? I would love to be God’s hands and feet for you. Reach out to me, I am happy to share in your troubles.

Today’s Scripture…

1 John 4:4
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Thoughts…

There have been many mountains in my life. I have found myself in situations, facing monsters, I thought I could never conquer. There was one truth that tide them all together. I prevailed. I may have not prevailed the way I thought I would or even really wanted to, but I made it through.

They key was relying on God to see me through. I had to move out of the way so God could do His thing. I had to remember, no matter what wall was in front of me, God was bigger. He would smash it, help me get around, find a door for me to walk through, or even toss me over it.

What I have learned over the years is when the enemy comes at me puffing out his chest, I just need to straighten my crown and remind him just who I am and who I belong to!

Prayers…

Lord, Thank you for making me your daughter. I know y]You are in me and You are so much bigger than any problem I face! ~amen

Today’s Scripture…

Psalms 86:4
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.

Thoughts…

I love today’s verse. I pray for Joy in my heart. However, I think I can take this verse a little bit farther. I can say, I have joy because I can trust in the Lord. Trust is not an easy thing for people. I know it is not easy for me.

For the longest time, I went around with an attitude of knowing God can do something but would He. I truly believed God was able to do anything. I knew His promises and believed everyone of them. What I didn’t do was trust God to do what was best for me. You see it doesn’t matter if He does or does not do what I expect, believe or want Him to do. My trust is He will do SOMETHING at the PROPER TIME..

The privilege of learning to trust God for everything is a pure joy to me. Knowing He will never let me down and will always do what is best for me is joyous.

Prayer…

Lord thank your for the joy you bring to my heart by allowing me to trust you! ~amen

Today’s Scripture…

Zephaniah 3:17
17 The LORD your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Thoughts…

We tend to idolize people, movie stars, sports players, government officials, and even religious members. As Bing Crosby says in White Christmas, “It’s kinda dangerous putting those knights up on white horses. Likely to slip off you know.” Even if they remain of good character, the limelight moves on, the season ends, the final term finishes and people retire. Although their legacy may live on, they do not.

I can assure that there is one person in your life who’s title of Mighty Warrior (among many other names) will never fall off that white horse.. Death didn’t even keep Him down. The best part is all these idols in your life will most likely never know you but Jesus not only knows you, He also loves you and rejoices over you. This love will NEVER end. His armor will always shine and His saddle is always secure.

Today’s Scripture…

Galatians 2:21
21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

Thoughts…

Being religious is so different from being a follower of Christ. To follow a religion means adhering to a bunch of do’s and don’ts that will land you in favor with or cast out of eternity. Religious rules become the focus of the commitment. Perfection becomes the name of the game.

To be a follower Christ means your focus is on Him and what He did for you. You recognize your striving to be more like Him, but acknowledge your need for Him.

If I could get into heaven by following a bunch of set rules, why would I need Jesus? What was the point of Him suffering and His ultimate death on the cross in place of me? To rely on religion is to deny Christ.

I don’t know about you but I am so thankful for His Amazing Grace!

Lord thank you for taking my place on that cross and giving me Amazing Grace! ~amen

Today’s Scripture…

Romans 5:10
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Thoughts…

I am going to be honest with you. This was a verse that I had to do some hard meditation before writing. I was perplexed by its meaning. I have been reconciled by Jesus’ death, and now saved by His life. What does saved by His life mean?

After much prayer, I began to understand it as God needed death for sins to be forgiven. Jesus took that place for us, so we could live.. The fact that Jesus came down and walked in our shoes, gave us a road map to life. He not only gave us life, but also show us how to live it.

Jesus did not JUST come to save our mortal soul. It was not enough to God to make it so we would be with Him someday. He wants to be with us today. Jesus gave us a chance at life and purpose to live it. What will you do with that opportunity today?

Today’s Scripture…

Proverbs 11:16
16 A kindhearted woman gains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth.

Thoughts…

Gaining wealth sounds pretty good until you really read that verse and notice one little word, “only”. All of a sudden you are looking at a totally different life. You see gaining wealth is not wrong. It is how you gain it. People who are ruthless are gaining it by cheating people. They cheat, lie and steal their way to the top. Once they are there, they find nothing. As a matter of fact, they feel never reach the top because there is always the desire for more!

On the other hand you have the kindhearted woman. She may also gain wealth, but she is smart and treats people with kindness. She takes care of others as she is climbing. She unlike the ruthless person is always at the top. She isn’t left with just money. She has friends, loved ones all around her.

I guess the question today is where are you? Are you fighting your way to the top, or are you already there and always helping people climb higher!

Lord I want to be at the top with you and helping people climb higher each day. ~amen

Today’s Scripture…

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Thoughts…

This verse caught my eye today while doing a bible study by Joyce Meyers. I realized this verse never says, you will not be troubled and you will not be afraid. It says to not let your hearts be troubled and do n.ot be afraid. That means a great deal to me!

I suffer from depression and PTSD. Unfortunately, the world, yes even the Christian world, does not always understand or accept this issue. They try to tell you suck it up, get over it! I have even heard of people saying things like you must have done something to make God angry, or you don’t have enough faith. I say to them, “It is OK to Not be OK, and God’s peace for me may look a little different than to you.”

This verse says to me Jesus has my back. He is there for me when I am faced with troubles and fear. He is ready to hold me, rock me, and just be with me until I get past it. More than anything, His peace for me is letting me know it is OK to not be OK and I am not alone. What does His peace look like for you?

Today’s Scripture…

Philippians 2:3-4
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Thoughts…

As a child, one of my favorite songs to sing was “Make Me a Servant” it is a simple chorus sung over and over. I still find myself humming it from time to time.

Make me a servant
Humble and meek
Lord let me lift up
Those who are weak
And may the prayer
Of my heart always be
Make me a servant
Make me a servant
Make me a servant today

The word servant is not the same as slave. Being a servant is a choice. It is an honor. It takes a heart that desires to help others in need. It doesn’t mean being taken advantage of or looked down upon. It means making the choice to reach out your hand to meet someone else’s need.

Are you ready to ask God to make you a servant today?
