1 Peter 3:8-9
8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
World achieves peace! Oh boy wouldn’t that be an awesome headline to see tomorrow. I know if it was we would all scream fake news! We can’t get local politics to achieve peace, let alone the world!
Why is this? Why can’t we learn to sit down with the thought of ‘peace’ instead of ‘what is in it for me’? I can tell you why, PRIDE! We are all so good at looking out for ourselves. People have forgotten how to be sympathetic, love one another, show compassion and be humble. They are hung up on revenge and throwing insults at each other. The biggest problem is I can’t change the world. I can only change me.
Today I stand and say I want to change MY world. I choose love, sympathy, compassion and humility. I will not seek vengeance or throw insults when I am hurt. How about you? Feel like joining me and being like-minded?
Lord, I may not achieve World Peace, but with Your help, I can bring peace to my world. ~amen
