Matthew 13:29-30 (Read 24-30)
29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”
Did you ever wonder why God just doesn’t take all the bad stuff out of your life right now? Life would be so much easier on us if everything just ran smoothly and we never faced any of those bad things, right? Or would it?
There is a lot to be said about the old adage, “Things are worth more when you work for them..” Looking at today’s society, I know I even take things for granted that I would not have as a kid, such as seeing or talking to someone. As a kid, it meant so much to get to see my cousins from another state. Today, I miss family, yes, but it is so much easier to just pick up a phone and call, text, Facetime, Zoom, Facebook, message, instagram or whatever with them. I am not saying those are bad things, but it certainly makes me take people for granted. I lose some of that specialness when we do get together. However, during Covid we learned what it was like to not get together and those things helped, but all of a sudden didn’t feel like enough. We learned to love and appreciate others again.
My point to this while, when we take away all the bad we lose sight of the good. Everything just becomes well, nothing. When we work for something it becomes so much more precious in our life.
Lord thank You for walking me through things and not always just taking them out of my path. ~amen
