1 Corinthians 13:6-7
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Thoughts…
Love is not this feel good emotion displayed in the movies, TV, and books . I think Frank Bearsley says it best in “Yours, Mine, and Ours.”
“If you want to know what love really is, take a look around you. …It’s giving life that counts. Until you’re ready for it, all the rest is just a big fraud… Life isn’t a ‘love in;’ it’s the dishes and the orthodontist and the shoe repairman and. ground round instead of roast beef. And I’ll tell you something else: it isn’t going to bed with a man that proves you’re in love with him; it’s getting up in the morning and facing the drab, miserable, wonderful everyday world with him that counts.”
Love is not “until I find something better and more exciting.” Love is all encompassing. It rejoices, helps, protects, trusts and hopes even when you don’t want to do it. Love is not what happens on Valentine’s Day. It is what happens the other 364 days of the year.
