Psalms 91:1-4
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
‘High Hopes’
Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant
But he’s got high hopes
He’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie
In the sky hopes
Ants are fascinnating. They work in groups, helping each other. They may be tiny but they can lift something 20 times their own size. They find refuge deep in the ground or burrowed in wood with their queen, who tries to keep them together and safe and sound. God is our refuge. The place we can run and get rest. Like ants, we go out in the world and do our job, and get to return to our shelter when we need. Unlike ants, we travel with our refuge everywhere we go. We‘ve got high hopes, in God.
