2 Timothy 4:17-18
But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS
I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
“The Lord will rescue me.” Notice it does not say the Lord will keep me far away from or stop it before it even reaches me. I am not saying there are not times God intervenes before the fact. I am sure there are times just like that. What this verse is telling us is we will face fires in our lives. God will help us face those fires and sometimes He will just put the fire out. It is up to us how we look at the fire when it first starts to blaze. Do we run screaming or do we grab the marshmallows!
