Jonquil

Scripture

Romans 7:14-16

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.

Observation

The Jonquil represents domestic happiness and friendship. It has an additional symbolism and meaning when included in an arrangement or bouquet. It mean “Love Me,” “Affection Returned,” desire, sympathy, or desire for affection returned.

Application

Anyone else go cross-eyed when you read these verses. I mean, I think it was a lot of words to simply, “I screw up!” However, doesn’t it feel great to know that a much revered and admired person like Paul admits to screwing up too! Good news for all of us, God never expected us to be perfect!!! We are expected to strive for perfection. Strive means to keep trying. God is sending that bouquet of jonquils your way. He wants you to know, everything is OK. He loves you too and He is sending His affection your way, no perfection needed!

Prayer

Lord, thank you for understanding when I am striving to do right! ~Amen
