Scripture
Matthew 7:9-12
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Observation
Do – G4472 ποιέω poieō, to do, make, practice, produce, a generic term of action or performance
Application
God laid on my heart to switch this verse again today. It is about the last part “do to others what you would have them do to you.” How many things do you say to yourself that you would NEVER say to someone you love? How many things do you say to yourself that you would NEVER let anyone say to you/? You have to quit beating up and hating yourself. God loves you. What right do you have to hate something He created and loves? Today, take a moment and do unto yourself what you would have others do to you.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for loving me. I am sorry that I often take that gift for granted. I apologize for despising the very thing you made. Help me learn to give myself your love and grace that I so freely give to others. ~Amen
